Members of the public and coastguard officers helped the rider following an Incident at Talacre Beach, North Wales.
A rider had to be airlifted to hospital after falling from their horse.
Coastguard teams were called to the incident on Talacre Beach just before 2.20pm today.
Officers from Flint and Rhyl gave first aid to the injured person but, due to the casualty's condition, it was decided that the Rescue 936 helicopter was needed.
Members of the public, including a nurse, also helped at the scene.
A Flint Coastguard Rescue Team spokesman said: "Team tasked by UK Coastguard along with Rhyl Coastguard Rescue Team to reports of a person fallen from a horse on Talacre Beach, on scene casualty was located west of the lighthouse.
"Due to the injuries, Coastguard Rescue Officers gave immediate first aid until the arrival of Coastguard Rescue Helicopter 936, who then transported the casualty to hospital."
He added: "We wish the person a speedy recovery and we would also like to thank the members of public who gave assistance."
